The mission of Notre Dame Health Care’s Educational Bridge Center is to provide educational opportunities and related services for staff and community members who want to advance in their careers.
Our History
The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur embraced education as their primary mission when Saint Julie Billiart
founded the order nearly 220 years ago.
Following that tradition, in 2004, Notre Dame Health Care established the Educational Bridge Center to develop a lasting culture of learning and growth within the long-term care community, offering courses for Notre Dame Health Care employees and others from similar facilities seeking to cross the “bridge” to enter nursing programs.
As the needs of the health care community changed over the years, the Educational Bridge Center expanded its mission into the greater community and beyond, offering services to train caregivers who work with memory-impaired elders or specialize in end-of-life or palliative care. Health and wellness programming, open to both residents and the community, was added, along with ServSafe™ training to certify those in the food service industry in Food Management and Safe Food Handling.
Over the years, services have included various levels of support for staff and community members who have sought opportunities to earn a degree, and ultimately obtain a better life for themselves and their families.
