How to Volunteer

Notre Dame Hospice Care provides comfort, compassion, companionship, and support to patients nearing the end of life and their family members when a treatment or cure for an underlying disease is no longer available. Services are delivered by a dedicated team of health care professionals who focus on addressing physical, mental, social and spiritual needs to improve quality of life.

From that moment, we have been committed to the belief that there is a lot of living to be accomplished during the final stages of life.
Because of this belief, we bring a comfortable, compassionate and holistic approach to support while caring for individuals of all ages as they approach the end of life. The Notre Dame Hospice Team also provides companionship for those we serve and their families, helping to ease the transition for all involved.
This team is composed of:

<li aria-level="1">Bereavement specialists</li>
</ul>
The Hospice Team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

When a child has a life-limiting or terminal illness, home Hospice Care can enhance quality of life; ease pain; manage symptoms; and provide physical, emotional and spiritual support.
Featuring a range of compassionate and caring professionals, Pediatric Hospice Care, or Children’s Hospice Care, provides parents and children with the comprehensive care needed to navigate the end-of-life journey at home while ensuring the child’s and family’s wishes are met.
Notre Dame Hospice is the sole provider of Pediatric Palliative Care and Hospice Services in Central Massachusetts.

The Notre Dame Hospice volunteer training program offers on going education, supervision, and support to ensure the success of everyone involved. Because our volunteers often have so many other commitments, the orientation process is as streamlined as possible. Orientation can be completed as a self-study, online, or within a structured group setting.
