Notre Dame Long Term Care and Rehabilitation Center offers quality care in a warm, home-like environment that is anchored in spirituality and delivered by a team of caring, compassionate, and dedicated staff who embrace a resident-focused philosophy of mind, body, and spirit.
At our Long Term Care and Rehabilitation Center, we offer a variety of activities to enrich mind, body, and spirit, from ice cream socials and games, to exercise options, crafting, prayer services, ongoing and seasonal volunteer projects and more, all of which help to keep residents stimulated, engaged, and driven.
Music and music therapy is a big part of many of our residents’ daily lives. Those who are musically inclined are invited to join the voice or drumming group or the Bell Choir, which performs at area nursing homes and produced their own CD. Our in-house music therapist, Chie Mastis, graduated from Anna Maria College with a major in music therapy and a minor in psychology. She works in both the traditional Long Term Care and Harmony Village Memory Care settings with small and large groups, or in one-on-one sessions.
Art therapy and craft programs help revive dormant talents and, in some cases, reveal the hidden artist in some of the residents. Throughout the year, the artwork is exhibited for family and friends to view.
Pet therapy is also offered from time to time! We’ve enjoyed visits from local community animal lovers who have engaged with our residents to experience the soft of touch of an Alpaca, the cuddle of a bunny and the oink of a pig.
Our residents also can also volunteer for Notre Dame Health Care programs by creating activity books or friendship blankets for the children in our Pedi Pals program or by baking bread for St John’s “Food for the Poor” program.
